[Software] Total Commander und Updates

Gefällt mir, die neue Version.
Die Icons haben endlich mal ein eFrischzellenkur bekommen, der "Vergleiche nach Inhalt"-Menüpunkt erlaubt nun auch das Bearbeiten, wie es mit WinMerge möglich ist, und was auch nett ist: Der interne Lister hat einen Textcursor bekommen :)

Eine Übersicht der geplanten Änderungen auf deutsch gibt es auch hier, der Dank geht an Lefteous...

This time there are mostly bug fixes, but also some additions.

The most important are:

Load Network Neighborhood in background thread, so plugins can be accessed more quickly, especially on Vista.
Separate tree: Also load initial root view of tree in the background, to speed up starting of Total Commander
Files - Split File: Remember user-defined split sizes (max 20)

Update auf 7.02!

What's new?

This is a bugfix version, which mainly fixes bugs found after the release of Total Commander 7.01 final. It also fixes a security hole in the FTP client (directory traversal vulnerability: special file names containing backslashes and dots could lead TC to download the file to a different location than planned). If you use FTP in Total Commander, we recommend that you install the update as soon as possible! The 16-bit version for Windows 3.1 has also been updated to version 6.57 to fix some errors and the security problem. There is also a32-bit version 6.57 for all who can't or don't want to switch to the new 7.x version.

The most important new features in version 7.02 are:
FTP over SSL/TLS improvements
Update Total Commander's environment variables when the system variables are changed (e.g. via Control Panel - System). Works on WinNT-based systems only
FTP transfers: If transferred file is smaller than expected, re-request file size of remote file with SIZE. If still different, report error (can be turned off).
F5 - F2 during an FTP connection now adds the files to an already open background transfer manager
.tab files now also support environment variables
Alias commands now support additional parameters %A1...%A9
 
31. Juli 2008: Total Commander 7.04 ist ab sofort verfügbar. Total Commander 7.04 unterstützt nun ZIP-Verschlüsselung, sowohl die alte Zip2.0-Methode, wie auch das neue AES-Format (advanced encryption standard). Beide sind kompatibel mit gängigen Packprogrammen. Ausserdem enthält die neue Version wie immer eine Menge kleinerer Korrekturen und Verbesserungen an bestehenden Funktionen.

* Support for file names longer than 259 characters (up to 1022) in most file operations
* Compare by content allows to compare text files of different type, e.g. Ansi and UTF-8

* Internal unpacking of multi-part RAR archives, and RAR archives where the file names are encrypted
* Copy files/directories to multiple target directories (or lnk files pointing to directories) in one operation
* Quick search with search dialog: Show button which allows to show only files/dirs matching the filter
* Switch character encodings in Lister
* New internal association system, e.g. for using Total Commander from an USB stick
