Neuigkeit Codemasters schließt ALLE RF Online Server!

Die Neuigkeit traf mich gerade wie ein Schlag in die Magengrube!

Codemasters schließt alle Nord-Amerika und Europa Server des MMORPG-Spiels RF Online (Rising Force Online) zum 10.November 2008!!!!!!!!!

Ich hatte eine kurze Pause eingelegt von knapp einer Woche und dachte eben, geh doch mal wieder nach deinem Charakter schauen und bin flugs auf den Server! Gesagt getan, bin drauf und was seh ich.....

...nichts - absolut nichts! Keine Spieler weit und breit, alles Ödnis. Fehlten nur noch die trockenen Büsche, die über die Prärie treiben...

Und dann las ich sie, die winzige Nachricht im Chatfenster: "THX for good Gaming, but RF close the Server due 10.11.08" (oder so ähnlich) - ich bin fast vom Stuhl gefallen. Wochenlange Spielsitzungen für nichts - Geld im Cashshop ausgegeben für nichts - Ich bin endlich mal Level 46 geworden für nichts! Oh Mann!

Codemasters schreibt dazu:

RF Online European Game Servers To Close

It is with much sadness that today we announce our intention to close the European and North American RF Online game servers operated by Codemasters.

Our licence for RF Online is due to expire shortly and unfortunately, despite several weeks of negotiations with CCR, the Korean developers of the title, we have not been able to reach an agreement to renew the contract.

This means that Codemasters will no longer have the right to operate the service in the Western territories it currently provides service in and therefore we are obliged to shut down all associated game services before the licence expires.

The last full day of service will be 9th November, 2008. All RF Online world servers will shut down on the morning of Monday 10th November, UK time.

The purchase of credits is now no longer available to ensure all players have the opportunity to spend their remaining Novus credits in game. Likewise, the creation of new RF Online game accounts/subscriptions is now disabled. For further information, please see our RF Online Closing Down FAQ in the forums.

RF Online was Codemasters Online's first MMO service and we have been very proud of its development and success during its three years of existence. It was also one of the first Eastern-style MMORPGs to ever make it to Western market and do well and it's with much fondness that we look back and remember these achievements.

We'd like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who declared their allegiance and gave us their support with RF Online over the past few years and especially, to thank all the players who spent countless hours with us in Novus.

Why are you closing down RF Online?
Please review our official statement for the details of service's termination.

What will happen to our characters?
All characters on the Codemasters servers will be archived into storage for a minimum of 1 year.

Can we transfer our characters to another RF Online service?
There are currently no plans to offer character transfers to another operator's service.

Is someone else taking over the service?
Once Codemasters close their Western RFO service the license will default back to CCR.

If someone else takes over the service will our characters be on their service?
As mentioned above, there are currently no plans to offer character transfers to another operator's service.

As a long term player, do I receive anything for my dedication to this game right up to the end?
For eligible Codemasters RF Online players there will be certain benefits and rewards given out. If you qualify for any of those benefits you will be contacted by email before the end of 2008.

Is this why there has been no news of the update for X months?
Due to the uncertainty of the future of the Western service we were unable to provide players with any updates until a definite decision had been made. It was very frustrating during this time to not be able to provide our players with any news however due to the nature of the decision we did not have any concrete information to release.

What happens to unspent credits after the service closes?
We recommend that all players spend any unspent credit before the service closes as any remaining credit left on accounts will be lost after the closing date.

What happens to unused cash shop items after the service closes?
We recommend that all players use up any cash shop items before the service closes as any unused items will be lost once the service closes.

What is happening to the RF Online forums?
We will be consolidating the forums during the last month of service to reduce them down to the minimum needed to run the service. After the service has closed one we will be archiving all of the RF Online forums.

What did you do to combat RMT in RF Online?
Throughout RF Online's two and a half years of service, Codemasters Online banned over 130,000 accounts for RMT activity. This figure includes bots, farmers, spammers, delivery characters and storage characters that all had a direct link to RMT activity.

RFO war ein Superspiel für ein kostenloses MMORPG - guter Ersatz wird schwer zu finden sein. Die reingesteckte Zeit und Energie wird mir nie wieder einer zurückgeben können. Es ist echt Schade, das ein so gutes Spiel geht.

Ich kann nur hoffen, das die Koreaner ein Einsehen haben und das Spiel wieder in Europa in Lizenz geben. Codemasters behält alle Daten für 1 Jahr gespeichert, so dass die minimale Chance besteht weiterzuspielen - glauben tu ich aber nicht daran!

An alle anderen RF Online Spieler da draussen:

Es war eine geile Zeit mit euch auf den Servern, egal wo oder was ihr gespielt habt. Ich werde euch vermissen.....

Rate mal, wie angepiselt ich war, als die Server für "Metal Gear Solid 3" abgestellt wurden. Zwar schade für ein Online-Spiel, aber immerhin hast Du für das Spiel nichts bezahlt .

RF Online ist tot - es lebe RF Online!​

Frei nach dem Spruch mit dem König habe ich heute mit Freude festgestellt, das RF Online mit neuem Lizenzgeber wieder Online gegangen ist. Aus Episode 2 Part 1 wurde Episode 2 Part 2 und der Krieg der 3 Völker geht endlich weiter.

Die Grafik wurde aufgebohrt - das Gameplay ist das alte.

Der Client lädt gerade runter und wenn alles gut geht bin ich heute abend wieder als Accretia unterwegs.... :angel

Es mag viele Gründe geben eins nicht zu spielen, aber der ist Quark. Ich habe wärend meiner WOW Zeit sogar Geld gespart da ich mir keine anderen Games gekauft hab

Das reingesteckte Geld ist nicht futsch denn man hatte während der Zeit (hoffentlich) Spaß und dafür muß man das Geld sehen.

Ich habe 3 Jahre leidenschaftlich WOW gespielt und bereue keine Sekunde davon.

Warum ich jetzt nicht mehr MMORGS spiele hat andere Gründe wie zu Zeitintensiv und hat man einen gesehen...

Das reingesteckte Geld ist nicht futsch denn man hatte während der Zeit (hoffentlich) Spaß und dafür muß man das Geld sehen.

Ich habe 3 Jahre leidenschaftlich WOW gespielt und bereue keine Sekunde davon.

Man rechne 3 (Jahre) * 12 (Monate) * 13€ (wobei ich mir nicht sicher bin, wieviel Wow kostet). Das gibt 468€. Das macht ungefähr 11 normale Spiele
Naja, wenn ich die Wahl zwischen einem und elf Spielen habe, fällt die Antwort bei mir relativ klar aus Aber es ist ja Geschmackssache

Ich werd mirs auch mal wieder runterladen für zwischendurch...

Juchuu! Mein Lieblingsspiel startet wieder!

RF Online ist zurück mit einer etwas überarbeiteten Version 1.5 und ab sofort als Open Beta! Unter RFOnline geht es direkt zum Download der sogar deutschen Version! Nicht übel!
