Core/document:
- Speed-improvements in scrolling with mousewheel
- Regressions from 6.1 fixed:
- Support for preferred fonts (in International Fonts in Preferences)
- Support for codepage where relevant (Oriental languages)
- More intelligent loading of Xft libraries, to avoid crashes
- A number of other page layout issues and bugs.
Bookmarks:
- Support for import for Netscape html based bookmark file.
- Support for Internet Explorer bookmark import.
- Support for KDE1 bookmark import
- Support for Konquerer bookmark import
- Support for Open and New
- Support form sorted bookmark menus (main menu bar and in personal bar)
- Support for contact menu lists (used in the mail window - add contact button)
- Added a workaround for a crash problem in the bookmark list
- Various minor fixes.
Startup dialog box:
- The start dialog box will now be shown if Opera crashed in the previous session.
- Some fixes for the startup dialog box. It did not work 100% as it should. The Buy button did not work.
- Corrected wrong behavior in the startup code. The kind of startup mode could end up being another than what the user wanted.
Command line arguments:
- Added new remote command "lower()" which will lower the main window
- Added new command line option "noraise" which will prevent the window that receives a remote command to raise on top of the rest of the windows.
Window manager interaction:
- Fixed a problem that caused modal dialog boxes to block the help window.
- A number of fixes to bypass a problem in Qt. The WM_CLASSNAME property is not set (at least in some versions of Qt3) so it is now set manually. The WM_CLASSNAME property is used by some window managers to group windows.
Focus:
- Located a fix for a longstanding and nasty focus issue that prevented proper initial keyboard input when a dialog was shown.
- Various other fixes.
Misc:
- Enabled the registration dialog box.
- Enabled a proper "confirm insecure submit" dialog with a "do not show again" checkbox.
- Opera for Linux 7 is now able to convert saved "win" files (window sessions) for version 5 and 6 of Opera for Linux.
- Fixed a (nasty) bug in the history panel that made it possible to not update the history file after an item was deleted.
- The dropdown widgets on the address bar can now activate the dropdown list by using the down arrow
- Fixed a rather nasty keyboard/mouse blocking problem that would occur if a modal dialog box got visible while panning (autoscrolling) was activated.
