Mepis Bootlaoader Installations problem

Ich habe gerade mepis 3.3 auf meinem Laptop installiert.

Dafür habe ich Mepis eine 3.5GB partition mit ext2 erstellen lassen (warum ext2 und nicht ext3-> ist eine etwas längere geschichte)
Jetzt habe ich aber nach der abgeschlossenen Installation, das mir mein rechner bei der Installation des GRUB Bootloaders jedesmal komplett abschmiert.
Egal ob ich ihn nun in den MBR schreiben lasse, oder ins root installieren will.
Der rechner bbleibt einfach komplett hängen, keine Fehlermeldung keine Mausbewegung mehr.

Gibt es die Möglichkeit, den eintrag in der Boot.ini von Windows selbst vor zu nehmen, oder einen anderen Bootloader unter Windows/Linux zu installieren. den ich als ABSOLUTER LINUX ANFÄNGER auch selber installieren kann?

Achso, ich benutze mepis pro, von der Life cd. (Bis ich einen Bootmanager installiert bekommen habe, danach die installierte Fassung)

oh nein, die teilweiße vorhandene Grup Bootloader iunstallation hat mir mein MBR zerschossen......

Du hast eine ältere Beta-Version von Mepis Pro, die hatte diesen Bug, ist bei mir auch passiert.

Sorry war etwas missverständlich beschrieben.

um genau zu sein habe ich
ProMEPIS-2005.b04.iso
und
SimplyMEPIS-3.3.iso

wobei ich versucht habe: ProMEPIS-2005.b04.iso zu installieren. Ist laut ftp baum, die neuste version. Oder ist das die Version mit dem Bug?

EDIT:
dank Fix MBR kann ich jetzt zumindest windows wieder booten. Ich versuche jetzt eine Installation mit simplemepis 3.3

ProMEPIS-2005.b04 ist eine Beta und buggy!!!!

Laß es und nimm die Simply Mepis 3.3, die funktioniert!

Hier ist das aktuelle Verzeichnis der veröffentlichten Versionen, 3.3 ist die neueste.

Pro Mepis gibt es im Prinzip gar nicht mehr, das ist eine Vor-Version von SphinxOs.

One of the things many users make the mistake of doing is thinking Pro is just an improved version of Simply. It is not. Simply is a desktop oriented distribution while Pro is designed for servers. If you're not planning to run a webserver or FTP or other similar task Pro is not for you. Remember there is nothing in Pro that you can't apt-get into Simply.


Other differences as of 15:28, 30 Jan 2005 (CST):

* Pro is still beta/testing.
* Pro is more complex than Simply. We want newbies to use Simply if they don't need any of the extra packages avalable in Pro (actually most of the packages in Pro can be installed into Simply with apt-get).
* Pro is going to have 2 CD's. Simply has only one, so it's easier to download.
* Pro is not yet released and it's not very clear if it's going to be available for free. Simply Mepis is free, registration encouraged.
* Pro used to have a better look than Simply. This is no longer true. Simply Mepi 3.3 looks even better than Pro.
