ut2003 installieren

Hallo,

ich hab ein kleines Howto gefunden: http://www.chicki.de/

Preparation
Boot up Linux and insert CD3, open it and copy the linux_installer.sh to a conveniant location (i.e. your homedir)
While you're on it delete the .ut2003 folder in your home directory, in case you played the demo, the configs aren't compatible.
Now insert CD1, but don't run the installer yet, instead head to the control center of your distribution and disable "automount" or "supermount" or how ever it is called for the CD-Drive you want to use for installing.
Now reboot and login as root without using KDE or gnome, but use xinit or failsave instead (icewm and similar window manager should also work).
Disc 1 should already be in your drive, so mount it (mount -t iso9960 /dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom - this is for the first CD/DVD Drive add the number after "cdrom" if the CD is not in your primary drive). Now that you mounted the CD change to the location, you copied the patch to (cd /home/myuser - or where ever you copied it) and run it (sh linux_installer.sh).
Once it asks for the "Disc 1" or first disc, which is actualy our Disc 2, change to a different console (ctrl+alt+F2) and login as root again.
Unmount the Play CD aka Disc 1 (umount /mnt/cdrom), insert Disc 2 and mount it as described above.
Switch back to the X-server console (ctrl+alt+F7) and click Yes to continue.
Repeat the procedure when you are asked for Disc 2 which is actualy the retail disc 3
When all files are copied, you a re asked for your CD-KEY, click on the new window to activate it, insert the CD-KEY and repeat it when you're asked for it again. NOTE: the CD-KEY is case sensitiv so XY4Z isn't the same as xy4z.
That's it - you succesfully installed UT2K3 under linux, now exit the failsave mode using the command "exit", log back in and reenable automount or supermount in your distribution's control center.
Have fun playing UT2K3 under LINUX!!!
